Bridal Wears

WEDDING PARTY TIPS

The least you need to know to coordinate your wedding party look.

Bridesmaids
  • For a modern, but still put-together look – pick the colour and fabric, but consider letting your bridesmaids choose the neckline and silhouette.
  • When shopping for fabric and style, bring one or two bridesmaids, maybe the maid who has the body that’s most similar to the rest of the bridal maids or the maid who is the most difficult to fit.
  • Ask for your maids’ advice, but make the final decision yourself. You’re the one who knows the big picture, overall look, formality and people’s budget best.
  • The bridesmaids should try to sew their fabric at the same time to ensure that the dresses will be ready on time.
  • Allow two months, buying and sewing of the fabric, so as to care of any alteration.
  • Don’t forget the extras. Should all the maids have the same shoes, jewelry, hairstyles, handbags or wraps? Communicate your desires clearly to your maids.

Flower Girls and Ring Bearers
  • Flower girls and ring bearer don’t have to match the adult perfectly, but they should perfectly fit in with the formality of the event. The only exception: Tuxedos aren’t necessary (and may not be available) for tykes under six. Our trick – substitute a black suit and a bow tie.
  • Be sure to dress your flower girl or ring bearer appropriately for their age. Strapless or halter dresses may be too sophisticated for the little kids (even with cardigan), while overly froufrou tulle dresses might not look right on, say, a 10-year old.
